The University of Ottawa’s Environment, Society and Policy Group (the Dawson Lab) is seeking a Research Associate or Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct original research on climate change, Arctic marine systems, sea ice, shipping and the implications of environmental change for northern communities. Working with Lab Director Jackie Dawson, you’ll design and lead studies, analyze large-scale environmental and social datasets, develop models, take part in fieldwork and community-based research, and publish findings that inform communities, industry and policymakers. You’ll also contribute to grant proposals and reports, help mentor students, and collaborate with academic, government and Indigenous partners across Canada and internationally. We’re looking for someone with a PhD, solid publication and scientific writing record, and the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team; experience in Arctic research, working with Inuit or Indigenous partners, and French or Inuktitut are strong assets. We offer competitive salary, benefits, professional development, conference travel, language training and a collaborative research environment tackling one of the defining environmental and geopolitical challenges of our time. Send a brief cover letter and CV to Megan Ihrig <mihrig@uottawa.ca>; applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The ESPG is an equal opportunity employer.
